SENIOR NATIONAL CONSULTANT-LIAISON AND COORDINATION (SSA – 8)
(One year – with possibility of extension)
This position is expected to provide support to the office and the programmes under the Director-General of Health Services to strengthen governance and stewardship of the public and private health sectors; provide expert technical advice on health sector programme design, implementation and review; prepare reports, briefings and other documents providing high-level analysis on health and development matters. Specially, the incumbent will promote and support the establishment of policies, norms and standards for the designing, organizing and functional programming and operation of Health Nutrition Programme Support Development (HNPSDP) sector programme in country; support the strengthening of institutional capabilities for the adequate performance of the relevant stakeholders. The incumbent will be closely involved in promoting the formulation and establishment of standards for the programming, operation, monitoring and evaluation of national health programmes and facilities.
The Candidates:
The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Medical or MBBS with Master’s degree in Public Health or Public Administration or Public Policy or other relevant areas. The candidate should have at least 10 years of professional experience in the field of Public Health Policy.
LIAISON AND COORDINATION Associate (SSA – 6)
(One year – with possibility of extension)
This position is expected to support the liaison and coordination initiatives under the office and the programmes under the Director – General of Health Services, particularly incoordinating, obtaining, and analysing information and data needed for HRH analysis, planning and implementation of Health Nutrition Programs (HNP), curative services (including monitoring of quality services), and proper use and functionalities of machine and equipment.
The Candidates:
The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University preferably from social science and relevant field In social development management, health information system and research with minimum 3 (three) years’ work experience in the area of public health, health workforce, and/or other relevant health systems strengthening areas.

NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL OFFICER -SURVEILLANCE AND PUBLIC HEALTH INFORMATICS; NO-A
(15 months – with possibility of extension)
The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to enhance public health surveillance and informatics in Bangladesh; ensure the surveillance data and public health informatics are harmonized at national level;prepare/design, create, merge multiple data sets, maintain and over see data bases. The incumbent is expected to develop written Standard operating procedures; undertake supportive supervision, monitor and evaluate and implement surveillance and public health informatics management system at regional, zonal, district and health facility levels. The incumbent should have skills in conducting training on surveillance and public health informatics software, as well as generating, monitoring, and sharing information on public health surveillance through relevant advocacy materials on surveillance in close collaboration with the CDS and Communication Unit.;
The Candidates:
The candidate should have a University degree in public health, science or related field.
It is desirable that the candidate has Master’s Degree in Public Health, Science or related field and training in health management information system, Epidemiological studies or research on communicable diseases, SPSS and EPIINFO and Advanced training in mapping software such as ArcGIS. The candidate should have minimum two years* experience in the area of surveillance or public health. Working experience in an international organization or UN agency will be an added value.
RE-ADVERTISEMENT: NATIONAL CONSULTANT-LABORATORY STRENGTHENING AND INFLUENZA(SSA- 7)
(One year – with possibility of extension)
1. The incumbent is expected to assist the IECDR to establish the Public Health Laboratory Network for Emerging Infectious Diseases (EIDs); provide support to the IECDR/DGHS/MOHFW to establish the laboratory diagnosis system of EIDs at Medical College and District hospitals; participate, monitor, and supervise outbreak investigations on Public Health Emergency of International Concern including seasonal, avian, pandemic and any other noval influenza in collaboration with IEDCR,ICDDR,B, USCDC, and DLS and act as a member of the National Rapid Response Team. The incumbent needs to assist National Influenza Centre (NIC)/IECDR in laboratory diagnosis of avian and pandemic influenza and provide feedback to WHO Country Office; assist IECDR to develop SOPs on laboratory diagnosis of EIDs and training on developed SOPs to laboratory personnel of the national and district public health laboratories. The position needs to support MOHFW to develop/strengthen laboratory safety standards within all laboratories in respect of space, personnel, clients and the community, including the development of laboratory logistics system.
The Candidates:
The candidate should have University degree in Medicine or health. It is desirable that the candidate has Master’s Degree in Public Health, or Infectious Diseases or Microbiology or Virology or related Medical Laboratory science, and or Advanced Training in Medical Laboratory Technology The candidate should have minimum five years’ experience in At least five (5) years’ experience in medical laboratory services quality and standards or experience in infection control or Antimicrobial Resistance.
